Training days

We offer a one day training programme that covers all aspects of running social skills groups, either in your local community or within your organisation. From starting your group, developing your curriculums to keeping your group running.

Our curriculums and teaching practise were developed over 6 years of working and writing, so the training pack, resources and curriculums are both practical and theoretical.

Training pack also includes our manual 'Teaching Social Skills Groups', which has everything you need to run your own group. You also have free advertising on our website and links to our Facebook page, which are the 'go-to' pages for parents looking for groups.

The training day is a combination of practical advice and group work theory, so will explore the following:

  • Introductions - and setting up groups
  • Social Play Behaviour
  • Communication – aspects of groupwork and actitivities for pairing
  • Social stories
  • Break
  • Teaching social skills – your skills!
  • Activities to teach social skills in groups
  • Developing your curriculum and maintaining your group
  • Using your manual
  • Q's and A's.

If there are any specific areas you would like informationon, we can discuss them during training or personally. As an experienced group leader, I can offer support and advice where needed.
